The 2023 Narooma Oyster Festival was a pearler of a day. With beautiful autumn weather, lots of visitors, a huge festival program and oysters, oysters and more oysters.

We had so much fun and were very proud to sponsor Australia's Biggest Oyster Competition and the Australian Oyster Shucking Championships.

Congratulations to Sally Maclean from Jim Wild Oysters in Shoalhaven for again winning the women’s shucking trophy and congratulations to Gerald (Doody) Dennis for winning the men’s comp and the overall title as Australian Oyster Shucking champion. We are very excited to see Doody compete in Ireland later this year, and are happy to help sponsor the cost of this trip.

We had a number of activations over the three days of the festival, including:

  • Roaming shuckers at the Long Table Dinner, the South Coast's most exclusive dinner selling out in under 10 minutes.

  • An Appellation Oysters stand in the Rock Oyster Lounge, a waterfront VIP space.

  • A stand in Oyster Farmers' Alley where we served our oysters with Yarra Valley Caviar and fresh finger limes.

  • We hosted the Merivale media group at our Narooma Wagonga farm and took them on a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to grow an oyster.

  • We ran a three-day South Coast experience for some of our VIP customers to experience the festival and learn more about our business and people.

We are already looking forward to next year's festival on 3-5 May 2024. Save the date!!
